(Sorry Nowpublic... I tried to upload to you, but it wouldn't work.)
Twas the night before Bush left, and all through each house
Millions were cheering, "We're done with that Louse!"
The nation was done for, but what did he care?
No hopes remained that our houses, would always be there.
His daughters were sober all smug in their beds
While visions of privilege danced in their heads.
And Laura in her jammies, with him in her lap,
Read him "The Little Train That Could," for his last lame duck nap.
When in Lincoln's Bedroom arose such a clatter,
George sprang in his Stetson but saw nothing the matter.
Away to the PC in a flash he flew,
To open Matt Drudge, and see what to do!
Drudge screamed in big headlines, "Look Out in the Snow!"
"For out there a coming, will be people you know."
Then there to his lying GOP eyes did appear,
An Inaugural Sleigh, and some Democrats Dear!"
With a Red-suited driver, so determined and quick,
He knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
(Writer's note: Well, actually, it took him a lot longer than that, and he wasn't absolutely sure til he called Dick Cheney in to make the decision for him, that it was in fact, actually Santa.)
More rapid than donkeys, those leaders they came,
And Bush shuddered and shivered, and knew them by name!
"There's Carter, and Jessie, Edwards and then some!
And Hillary, Caroline, And that Red nosed Bill Clinton!"
"To the Oval Office!" Santa said, "And stop by the wall!"
"Now Celebrate, go Celebrate! And come back when I call!"
As Obama before Indie voters did fly,
When McCain chose Palin, Demos then rose in the sky.
So up to the House and the Senate they flew,
With control of the country (and the red states, too!)
And then in an inkling, Bush heard on the roof,
Santa coming to get that dumb little goof.
Bush drew in his big ears, and was running for town,
When St. Nicholas tackled him, in one single bound.
He was dressed all in rags, from his head to his foot,
He'd lost all in the stock crash but ashes and soot.
He held no presents but a big empty sack...
Said, "Don't bother to struggle, I'm taking you back!"
His eyes were tired, he looked kind of scary,
He said "Eight years was too much, Now make us all merry."
His hard little fists were drawn up like a bow,
He said, "Now get in the bag, and don't be slow."
"For I've come a long way, as only I can,
To give one last late gift, to all true Americans."
He had a gaunt look, and no more a round belly,
He'd been living on food stamps, and a little peach jelly!
He was lean mean and pumped, and looked ready to fight,
George jumped in the bag quickly, and Santa pulled it up tight.
A wink of his eye, then to all Santa said,
"Soon as he's gone, you'll have a lot less to dread."
Then spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
Returning to Texas that incredible Twerp.
"Mission Accomplished," he said through his nose,
And giving thumbs up, up the chimney he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, and to Bill gave a whistle,
And away they all flew, like an IBM Missel.
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere they drove left not far right,
"Happy Fresh Start to all, And to all a good-night!"
Postscript: Then George was visited by the spirits of JFK, MLK, and RFK but that is a whole nother story.
As is Bush's Legacy, written in stone for all eternity, that reads...
"How did such a totally undeserving, unworthy person...
ever get to be President?"
Oh yeah, I forgot: His daddy's money.
