On Tuesday evening no battleground State developed, the fatal blow came early, at 8:40p.m. est when Barack Hussein Obama claimed key State, Pennsylvania. As I predicted Barack swaggered into the White House with the company of a Senate just short of the highly anticipated filibuster majority.

On the bubble

The Minnesota Senate race between (D) Al Franken and (R) incumbent Norm Coleman has been tight, tight, tight, with no clear winner as of 5a.m. I called for the incumbent to pull through but this one is likely to be a long time coming, expect a re-count. With returns of 99% former SNL writer Franken and Coleman are tied at 42% with Franken leading by just over a thousand votes.

Another tight race is taking place in Alaska where convict incumbent Senator Ted Stevens hold a 2% lead over democrat challenger Mark Begich with 81% of all precinct reporting. This one could go right into the early afternoon and I don’t think I’m going to make it. I’m getting sleepy.

Bad investment advice

(D) Kay Hagan rode the wave battering Republican Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina. Strike one for godless American’s everywhere. Hagan defeated Dole by nine percentage points and around three hundred and fifty thousand vote. Ouch.

I was correct in calling the Presidential contest a runaway but this one has to be filed under bad advice because I predicted we would not witness a landslide, wikipedia has already added Barack Obama’s name to the list of landslide Presidential winners.

Time’s up; Predictions up

Prediction #1

No "battleground" states will develop this evening. No battle will arise, the fight has long been over.

Prediction #2

It’s nothing short of a terrible miscarriage of justice that in this the year 2008 that Barack Obama has finally became the first non-caucasian to run for the office of President of the United States, however Tuesday evening will see justice served as the first black candidate for the President's chair cooly and calmly slide into the Oval Office.

Prediction #3

Things will get out of hand, think runaway but not landslide.

Prediction #4

Senate Democrats will be celebrating vast gains in both the house and the senate but will be popping corks two seats short of the much talked about filibuster majority.

In Senate races, Democrats, who control 51 votes, are closing in on a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority. Three GOP-held seats whose Republicans are retiring -- in Colorado, New Mexico and Virginia -- appear almost certain to go to Democrats. In five other states -- Alaska, Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Oregon -- incumbent Republicans are seriously threatened. To get to 60, Democrats would have to win all those seats, plus one of three other competitive races: in Georgia, Kentucky and Mississippi

Prediction #5 (Senate Race - Minnesota)

Al Franken (D) a funny and even occasionally insightful guy is sure to be on the GOP’s short list. A list that has been dwindled down to the nefariously few as the GOP desperately attempt to narrow their scope in hopes of saving a little face. Look for the GOP to eliminate the Franken problem.

Prediction #6 (Senate Race - North Carolina)

Kay Hagan (D) Vs Elizabeth Dole (R) has been a knock down, drag out, mud slinging affair, look for vetern Dole to prevail.

Prediction #7 (Senate Race - Alaska)

Senate convict, incumbent Ted Stevens (R) embodies the very spirts of the fat cat politicians that both Senators McCain and Obama have been swearing they will run out of Washington. Both Presidential Candidate John McCain and Vee-P nominee Sarah Palin, Alaska’s Governor have called for Stevens resignation leaving the Republican candidate to fend for himself following his conviction on October 27, 2008. Senator Stevens was found guilty of seven counts of violating ethics laws by lying on Senate disclosure forms however a man does not survive forty years in the Senate with out having a trick or two up his sleeve. On a day where words like new, free, hope and change will be bandied around, finally, like they’re a right rather than a privilege seeing Stevens voted out of the Senate would seem apropos but things in Alaska rarely make any sense at all. Look for Sen. Stevens to leave Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich (D) in his corrupt, aging dust.
