Updated: United Nations Accuses Israel of Gaza 'genocide'

The United Nations has finally identified Israel's attack on The Gaza as a genocide in accordance with the UN charter. The question now is "What next?"

Update: BBC video of Israeli Spokesman M. Regev, admitting that Hamas did not violate the Ceasefire until Israel attacked the Gaza Strip on the 4th of November. This damages Israeli claims that it was Hamas that broke the ceasefire.

"The president of the UN General Assembly has condemned Israel's killings of Palestinians in its Gaza offensive as "genocide".

Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann also told Al Jazeera he had never believed that the UN Security Council would be able to stop the violence in Gaza and that Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, had practically told the UN to "mind their own business" by continuing the offensive.

"The number of victims in Gaza is increasing by the day... The situation is untenable. It's genocide," d'Escoto said at the UN in New York."

D'Escoto also said the UN had to bear some responsibility for the long-standing conflict in the Middle East as it had allowed the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, leaving the Palestinians stateless.

"You have to attack problems at their root cause and the Palestinian people have been subjected to subhuman treatment for decades and this [the Israeli offensive] is going to make matters worse."

what else UN can do......nobody cares what UN thinks or say.This body lost its relevance.....just a annual party meeting at some luxery location.

This is what you get when a terrorist organization runs your government and hides deep inside civilian populations. Hamas are cowards and Gaza is cowardly for electing them. They fire rockets at Israel at night and hide in schools and hospitals in the daytime.

Define Terrorism nyctuber, as well as Government. Is that what Israel is or the other way around what every one else is?

Terrorism is taking a rocket, pointing it at another country, and firing indiscriminately with the intention of killing innocent civilians and inducing terror. Big difference from what Israel is doing, but I've given up with trying to reason with those incapable of reason around here.
