Updates: 16 Year-Old and 15 Year-Old Suspected of Separate Teenage Stabbings in Knife Crime Britain
A sixteen year-old boy has been arrested under suspicion of the murder of 16 year-old student Conor Black in Manchester two weeks ago after a party. The youth denies responsibility.
Conor, also 16, was knifed once in the shoulder as he left the gathering in the early hours of Saturday morning. He died on his way to hospital.
The teenager charged with his murder, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear before Manchester City Magistrates Court today.
Conor, a joinery student and budding rapper, was knifed from behind after reportedly attending a rowdy party where he was embroiled in a petty squabble.
A hooded figure was seen running from where Conor was found, on a patch of grass near a main road in Harpurhey.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Conor was killed on Moston Lane by a single stab wound to his upper left shoulder.
"Paramedics tried to treat Conor for a puncture wound, but he died on the way to hospital."
A memorial to Conor, who was known to police, is continuing to grow near the crime scene.
Floral tributes and cards were left at a tree along with teddy bears, cards and a football.
Conor's mother Anita, with whom he lived on the Lightbowne estate, has been too upset to speak.
Though the post-mortem examination results have not been officially released it is believed Conor was stabbed through the aorta - the largest artery in the body
