The United Nations recent drugs report claims that 93% of the world’s opium comes from Afghanistan and that massive drug trade has provided $100 million to the Taliban terrorists last year.

Since 2004 the US has spent more than one billion dollars to try to stop the problem with no success. Despite all efforts from the US Poppy production is up 300% in the last 6 years and the Poppy fields totals more than 470,000 acres of land in Afghanistan. The Poppy production is a problem to the US terrorism fight as it gives incredible support and resources to the Taliban.
