Dick Cheney blasted Russia for their 'illegitimate' attempt to re-draw Georgia's borders. No real surprise there, but it's pretty chilling that the still vice-president is backing a country that was just in combat with Russia.

Not to mention yesterday's news that Bush announced a $1 billion aid package for Georgia.

US Vice-President Dick Cheney has condemned what he described as Russia's "illegitimate" attempt to change Georgia's borders.

Mr Cheney added that Russia's actions during the recent conflict with Georgia had cast doubt on its reliability as an international partner.
