GHALLANAI: At least three people were killed and two injured in Hellfire missile attacks by a suspected US drone aircraft in northwest Pakistan's tribal area, sources told.
At least four drone aircrafts Saturday fired missiles targeting the house of Taj Muhammad in Chasma village, some three kilometres south of Miranshah town, in North Waziristan Agency, killing three people, sources said.
There was no immediate information about the identity of the dead persons.
Pakistan's tribal belt across the Afghan border is known to be a haven of Taliban militants and their Al Qaeda allies who use it as a base to mount attacks on Kabul government interests and NATO troops battling them.
The US-led coalition forces have launched numerous missile attacks targeting suspected terror hideouts in the tribal area, which have resulted in a large number of civilian casualties.
Pakistan has lodged strong protests against these attacks, saying they violate the country's sovereignty but these attacks have not been stopped in spite the continuous protests of Pakistan.
