GHALLANAI: At least four people were killed when a US drone fired two hellfire missiles at some vehicle in the South Waziristan region near the Afghan border on Wednesday.

"Drones initially flew over mountains around Gangi Khel area. Some from ground fired towards one of the drones and they immediately left the area," said a government official, requesting anonymity.

Gangi Khel is a village some five kilometres (three miles) west of Wana, the main town in the semi-autonomous South Waziristan district.

"Drones returned after some time and targeted a vehicle parked near a bazaar. At least four people were killed in the attack. Four others were wounded. Local people said they were either shopkeepers or local residents," the official said.
It was not immediately confirmed whether any high-value targets were among them. US have continued her drone attacks in the tribal areas of Pakistan in spite of the repeated protests of the Pakistani government.
