Death toll in Wednesday's US drone strikes inside Pakistan climbed to 10 with foreigners among the dead.

WANA: The death toll in two U.S. missile strikes in South Waziristan has climbed to 10.

Foreigners are also among the dead.

According to sources, American unmanned aircraft fired two missiles at a vehicle in Kanigoram area near Mirkot Middle School in South Waziristan in which 10 people were killed, including foreigners.

The targeted vehicle and a nearby house were completely destroyed in the raids.

Earlier, six people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries in yet another US drone attack in Kani Garam area of Pakistan’s restive South Waziristan tribal region on Wednesday.

According to locals, a Hellfire missile fired from one of the two unmanned predator planes hit a vehicle in Kani Garam area around 8:15 p.m. (PST), killing six people onboard the vehicle on the spot and injuring two others. They said the targeted vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack. The injured were rushed to a private health clinic in the area.

There were conflicting reports about the identity of those killed in the attack and the local elders claimed the victims were local people but some independent sources said they were suspected militants associated with a local militants group. They said local people surrounded the area soon after the attack and nobody was allowed to visit the place.

The blast was so intense that the adjacent houses developed cracks, one of the eyewitnesses disclosed. It was the first-ever drone attack in Kani Garam area of the South Waziristan Agency, inhabited by the comparatively peaceful and educated Burki tribesmen. The attack evoked strong resentment in the Burki tribesmen who claimed that innocent people were targeted in the attack.
