Every day until the election, we'll be posting a round up of the day's related stories. These will include articles from NowPublic members and staff, as well as many other sources.

Current Campaign

While McCain cancelled his speaking event after a ton of rain in Pennsylvania, Obama spoke to a soaked crowd. NP'er caj1 is posting about it here:

(He later traveled on to Harrisonburg, VA.)  The weather was terrible, but the people were inspired. As mentioned in the comments on the Delco Times web page, it was the first visit of a major presidential candidate to Chester, PA since John F. Kennedy visited in 1960.

Voter Issues

NowPublic member therealnewsnetwork is posting that fraud claims will block thousands of innocent voters:

Spencer Overton: Claims about fraud will block thousands of innocent voters

NP member Standuptoracism is posting on the first site to mistakenly report Obama winning the election - months before the election.

Several news sites, including the Drudge Report, have mistakenly reported that the bi-monthly New Mexico Sun Times was the first American newspaper to print the headlines "Obama Wins!"

However THE REPORTER, a monthly paper in Gadsden, Alabama printed the headlines "Obama Wins!" in their September Issue which hit the stands on September 8, 2008, more than one month before the New Mexico Sun Times issue appeared in late October.

A funny story passed on by leftfair, which listed the top ten runner up names for 'Joe the Plumber':

#1- Sam the Eagle:
John McCain was really enthusiastic about the possibilities of recruiting Sam the Eagle; he was a stoic speaker and an iconic representation of American Values. Sadly, John was crushed when he learned that Sam the Eagle had previously been employed by Jim Henson, a flagrant liberal.
