Every day until the election, we'll be posting a round up of the day's related stories. These will include articles from NowPublic members and staff, as well as many other sources.

Assassination Plot

The main story coming out over last night and today has been the revelation of a pair of white supremacists, who were planning to kill 102 school children and then assassinate Barack Obama.

NowPublic member Christina 123 posted about the story yesterday:

"WHITE Supremacist" skinheads in Tennessee were behind a plot to murder 102 school children and then assassinate Senator Barack Obama, it has been revealed.

NP member LotusFlower also posted about the plot:

Neo-Nazi's have been thwarted in a terror campaign that was to culminate with the assassination of Barrack Obama.

Republican Hoaxer

More details are emerging from the hoaxer who told police she had been attacked, and a 'B' carved on her face. It turns out she isn't just a volunteer with the McCain party, she's a paid worker.

NP'er Karen Hatter has posted this story:

It is disturbing that it is expected that the public will believe the McCain-Palin campaign didn't know who this young woman was, a fact that should have been easily ascertained when Senator McCain or Governor Palin made calls of support to Ashley Todd, or the McCain-Palin campaign, possibly the local and the national, chose to conceal the fact she was a paid staffer working to organize voters to vote for the Republican presidential ticket.

Polls

Plenty of new polls out, NowPublic member DCPSR has brought to light one that won't get much mainstream attention, which shows Obama with a 16-point lead:

Not according to Pew, one of the more respected polling firms.  The brand new Pew Poll finds a huge 16 point lead for Barack Obama.

Dunkelberg found an interesting article regarding whether California could go to the democrats in this election:

Here's some interesting speculation from the blogosphere of California.

Things often are not what they seem, and complacency is a killer.

Rob Walker, I like this story. It's good stuff. Thank You for your story. I just wrote about Alan Dershowitz and his insulting remarks against the Green Party of America.
