US Election split the nation according to Dutch politician
According to a Dutch city council member, Jan Paternotte, the election of Obama may split the United States. Mr. Paternotte was an observer during the elections in the swingstate Ohio. He has offered a report with his observations to the government of Ohio.
In de grote steden heerst een uitzinnige stemming over de winst van Obama. Maar de bewoners op het platteland zijn als de dood voor wat nu komen gaat
At the election bureaus were he was posted, mr. Paternotte talked whole day with voters on this election. According to mr. Paternotte many voters, especially from the rural areas were highly emotional about Obama. They think he is a weak leader without experience who can offer no match to terrorists.
Mr. Paternotte, who is a member of the Dutch left liberal party D66, also stated that he asked the people if Obama bein an Afro-American has anything to do with their distrust but all respondents denied this. Although they do have a problem with his religion, some people think he is a Muslim, his middle name is Hussain. The people who know he is a christian are not convinced that he is a good christian according to this Dutch politician who thinks that his observations in Ohio might be exemplaric for large parts of the USA.
