North Korea has detained a US citizen for illegally crossing into their territory.  The unidentified man crossed by land from China.  This brings to two US citizens currently being held by the N.Korean authorities for illegally entering their country.

The official news agency KCNA said the man, who has not been identified, had been arrested on Monday and was now being questioned.

North Korea is currently holding another US citizen, Robert Park.

Mr Park crossed a frozen border river from China on 25 December, to make a protest against repression in the hard-line Communist North.

The US does not have formal diplomatic relations with the N.Korean country but works through the Swedish embassy.

Roy: It's hard to imagine that someone would be dumb enough to walk into North Korea . . . . There must be more to the story . . . .
