Ten people have been killed in US drone attack in Kurram Agency. Casualties are feared in a suspected US drone attack in north-west Pakistan near the Afghan border. According to reports, US drones fired two rockets at suspected militants hideouts in Sarpal area in lower Kurram Agency.

Ten people have been killed in the attack. This was the first US drone attack in Kurram Agency, however, drones made regular flights in these areas in the past.

Up to 10 people were killed on Monday when a missile fired by a suspected US drone destroyed a building used by the Taliban in Pakistan's tribal area of Kurram, a security official said. "One missile fired by a suspected US drone destroyed the Taliban centre, killing between eight and 10 people," a top security official said. It was the first suspected US drone attack in Kurram, one of seven semi-autonomous tribal areas in Pakistan on the border with Afghanistan, where the Taliban are fighting against US-led, NATO and Western-backed Afghan forces. The attack happened in the town of Bhagan. Taliban militants quickly surrounded the area and were not allowing locals to approach the scene, Pakistani security officials said. An intelligence official said there were multiple Taliban camps in the area. Several people feared dead in maiden US drone attack in Kurram Agency. Death toll in the US missile strike has risen to 30.

PARACHINAR: The death toll of US drone attack in Kurram Agency has reached to 30.

According to reports, four US drones fired four missiles at suspected hideouts of militants in Sarpal area of tehsil Sadda of lower Kurram. Intially, 15 people were killed in the attack.

Many bodies were trapped under the rubble and 30 bodies have been recovered so far. Several people sustained injuries in the attack.

Sources said there was a camp of Afghan Commander Bahram Khan Kochi in Sarpal area. US drones continued patrolling in the area after the attack.

This was the first US drone attack in Kurram Agency, however, drones made regular flights in these areas in the past.
