After giving a not very publicised piano concert at Buckingham Palace in London for Queen Elizabeth II, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would be flying to Pakistan and India following the Mumbai terrorist attacks. Rice would express US sympathies to the Indian people and government. It is also expected that Rice would press Pakistan over its commitment to fight terrorism.  Prior to her trip, "Rice urged Pakistan's complete co-operation with India in the latter's fight with terrorism." This would be the very last trip of Rice to the region as US Secretary of State.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will visit Islamabad to discuss security issues with Pakistani officials following Mumbai attacks. Rice is to visit Islamabad a day after her trip to New Delhi. The visit aims to reduce tensions between India and Pakistan, Press TV correspondent reported Tuesday.  The White House also confirmed that Rice cuts short her NATO ministerial meeting in London to discuss security threats in South Asia.   Talking to reporters in London, Rice urged Pakistan's complete co-operation with India in the latter's fight with terrorism.   She said that US President George W. Bush had asked her to express Washington's "sympathies and solidarity with the Indian people, and to express our absolute determination to help in any way that we can to help end this terrorist threat and to bring those who perpetrated this horrible crime to justice."   Earlier on Monday, the White House described South Asia as 'a jungle ready to catch fire'.  NAT/RA.
