USSR 1996 - 40th Anniversary of the October Revolution

This is one of a two stamp series (the other features Lenin sitting at a desk reading Pravda) celebrating 40 years of Soviet rule - there is a much larger series of stamps issued for the anniversary with a wider subject range issued just before this set. (10/30/57)
