Values Voters Forum Sells Racist Obama Waffles

Activists at a conservative Values Voter Summit snapped up boxes of waffle mix depicting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a racial stereotype, wearing an Arab-like headdress.  It also plays off the image of the classic pancake-mix icon Aunt Jemima, which has been widely criticized as a demeaning stereotype. Obama is portrayed with popping eyes and big, thick lips as he stares at a plate of waffles and smiles broadly.

One fan of Obama Waffles is CNN's Lou Dobbs who bought a box and exclaimed, "My wife will love this!"

You should have seen this on TV last night. Stephen Baldwin, Alec Baldwin's brother, called for a Holy War on Hollywood and the U.S.

Another interesting FYI. Snopes.com, as well all know, debunks myths. Well look it up. There were only 2 myths passed around by email on McCain. But in stark contrast, there were almost 20 emails that were myths passed around about Obama. Now tell me there is not a culture war against Obama.

Factcheck.org showed the same sad pathetic trend. Far more lies and spin about Obama from the right than the other way around. I think it says volumes. The far right can not win on merit, and record, so they have to win by lies, myths, and underground racism.

Of course, where I live, they are not as underground about it, at least not to your face. I have had numerous conservative white men and women tell me that they hated Bush, but would never vote for a black man. I guess they assumed that because I am white (by appearance) and from the south, I must think like they do. Of course, to me, they don't think. They vote out of fear. That is scary. That is what stirred Germany into the frenzy in WW2. If this is how they feel, why not come right out with it in public? Good'ol boys indeed.

As for Lou Dobbs, I have not heard that the waffle thing is true. I would verify that more before I took that at face value.

Lou Dobbs buying the Obama Waffles is absolutely true, here are the pictures of dear old Lou with his waffles and the guy, wearing an Obama Waffles apron, who was selling them.

These pics were originally posted, then taken down by ObamaWaffles.typepad.com, but not before they got screenshot.

I have no idea why you're referring to tallies of rumors and Stephen Baldwin's war (?), that has absolutely nothing to do with the story.

I would say that this kind of thing makes you wonder what kind of "values" they are talking about.  I would say that any group that condones such a thing as this does not have the kind of values that I would like to see taught to my children.  Dobson, and Focus on the Family are supposed to be a respectable organization, and as a sponsor of this event, they are as responsible for this product being sold at their forum as the maker themselves.

Values--hardly.
