A 26 year-old Vancouver man was set on fire while sleeping on a couch that he found outside in the Downtown Eastside Area.  He was out drinking Saturday night and fell asleep on the couch before waking up to see his body lit on fire.  The man was taken to a hospital and treated for minor burns.

Witnesses say three men were responsible for spraying fluid on his body and torching him.  All three suspects were able to escape before the police arrived.

One suspect is a Caucasian male aged 25 to 40. He is about 6 feet tall, is either bald or has a shaved head, and has tattooed arms.
"Verbal indicators are huge as far as hate crimes go," Houghton said. "Without filling in some timeline gaps it’s impossible to know the motive."
