Vancouver man stabs himself in robbery attempt

According to the Vancouver Police, Vancouver, A 22 year old Vancouver man has more than just robbery charges to be concerned about after he inadvertently stabbed himself with his own weapon while allegedly trying to rob a Duffins Donuts store in Vancouver overnight.

Police were called to the store shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning after a customer inside reported a robbery in progress. Officers arrived to find the suspect slumped over on the floor, heavily intoxicated. While taking the man into custody, officers recovered a large butcher knife. It was then they noticed the man had a stab wound to his abdomen and concluded that he must have fallen on the knife.

After a short stay in hospital the man was transferred to the VPD jail and is now facing a charge of robbery.
