Since the Vancouver Stanley Cup riot on June 15, 2011, many have taken to Facebook and Twitter to identify the idiots involved. Some have also tried to figure out the identity of the couple involved in the Vancouver Riot kiss photo.

In case you haven't seen it, Rich Lam of Getty Images took an amazing photo of a couple kissing on the street as a riot raged on around them. The Stanley Cup riot kiss photo became a worldwide sensation.

Now it appears that some have managed to figure out the identity of the couple in the riot photo.

The Globe &  Mail has an interview with a woman who claims to be the mother of one of the people in the kiss photo.

Who Are the Vancouver Riot kissing couple?

According to Megan Jones, the two people kissing are Scott Jones and Alex Thomas. According Ms. Jones, her 29-year-old son and girlfriend Scott were caught up in the Stanley Cup riot.

Alex Thomas was allegedly knocked to the ground by a riot shield. Scott Jones tried to comfort her with a kiss.

Of course, there are people who think the Scott Jones-Alex Scott photo was staged. Jones has been described as an aspiring stand-up comedian, which could suggest that he might be motivated to stage a photo for attention or for the sake of a good joke.

Whether real or not, the photo is still amazing.

Could be a cover of a new book.  "Love  Runs Deep" The whole story behind this kiss is bitter sweet. The man comforts the fallen and hurt young lady in a time of kaos. Very innocent picture.
