Updates: On Sunday 29 June 2008, opposition site Noticiero Digital and El Universal, stated that RCTV anchorman Javier Garcia met his murderer on a male prostitution corner at a posh suburb of Caracas. Apparently, Garcia used to pick Isaac Molleda up during weekends for the last eight months. After initial interrogation, Molleda confessed he had waken up after a drug night spree and hours after killing RCTV anchorman Javier Garcia. After finding out his deed, Molleda tried to steal some property in a rush. However, he only managed to retain Garcia´s mobile phone. By using it later in the week, police was able to catch him in a hotel in Caracas.

On Friday afternoon, 27 June 2008, Isaac Molleda was officially detained for the presumed murdering of RCTV anchorman Javier Garcia; he will now remained detained and under heavy guarded security while a trial is initiated. Molleda was accused of killing Garcia for the purpose of robbing him.

Early this morning, Isaac Roberto Mollera Zárraga was taken to court accused of having killed RCTV anchorman Javier Garcia. It is expected, Venezuelan Police would give a press conference to explain the motives and circumstances behind the murder.

Late on 26 June 2008: The 24 year old man arrested today is either called Isaac Oberto Morella Párraga or Isaac Roberto Mollera Zárraga. He comes from Falcon State, Western Venezuela, and has no family in Caracas. He has lived in various hotels in Caracas lately. It also emerged he befriended RCTV anchorman Javier Garcia eight months ago. They were close friends. The detained man is now under police preventive custody while further interrogation takes place. If charged after investigations,  he would be taken to court shortly.
