NBC Declares Peter Schumlin the New Governor of Vermont

In what was a very tight race for the Governor of Vermont, Democrat Peter Schumlin has been declared the winner with 83% of the vote counted.

NBC posted their results just moments ago, with Schumlin receiving 113,844 votes and opponent Brian Dubie receiving 109,410 votes.

This was another race after the 2010 Midterm Elections that was so close, it looked like it could go either way as the polls closed and results started to pour in on Tuesday night.

There are still a number of Senate races that have not been announced as the votes are so close and are still being tallied and counted.
