Baltimore McDonald's Beating Video: Vernon Hackett Fired as Fight Footage Goes Viral
A vicious beating at a Baltimore McDonald's has landed the franchise in a PR firestorm. Two young women (ages 14 and 18) brutally beat a transgendered girl named Chrissy Lee Polis in a fight over use of the McDonald's bathroom. The girl was beaten for several minutes, and nobody in the restaurant did anything to help her.
Vernon Hackett, one of the McDonald's employees, filmed the fight on his cameraphone, and later posted the video to Youtube. Aside from the vicious beating, the video also shows the entire staff doing absolutely nothing to stop the attack; some employees can be heard laughing and telling the girls to flee the scene before the police arrive.
The two assailants may be facing hate crime charges if it can be proved that the attack was sparked by the fact that the victim was transgendered. Vernon Hackett was fired for filming the beating: was it because he filmed the beating per se, or because it depicts the McDonalds staff as unwilling to do anything to help the victim?
Some have pointed to this as a racist attack (the assailants were black, the victim white), but it can also bee seen as a homophobic attack- the women were angry that a man was ahead of them in the queue for the toilet.
At any rate, the only person in the Mickey D's who stands up to the two assailants is an old lady. The young men are just standing there. Vernon Hackett has since deleted his Youtube, Facebook and Twitter accounts, but the video lives on.

It's a start. But have they fired the POS employee who stole her phone as she was being attacked? Or the manager who couldn't even be bothered to lock the doors to keep the attackers from coming back inside to beat the woman into a seizure, much less take the woman into the office or the bathroom until police could arrive? Or the employees who were cheering the attackers on instead of trying to eject them from the building? Or the employees who told the attackers to get out of there before the police arrived?Have they found the elderly woman who tried to help the girl and probably saved her life by preventing the attackers from either slamming her head in the door or dragging her into the parking lot? She deserves a medal!

I hope the women atttacked sue McDonald for the disgusting lack of help from the employees including the manager. Only an old lady attempted to help this poor victim and she was punched in her face (she should sue too)! The video is so upsetting, it is hard be believe that human beings can behave this way but there it is, it all it disgusting horror on video. Shame on those employees especially Vernon Hackett who recorded the entire attack. At least the video has led to the two women being charged with assualt and I hope, they will also be charged with a hate crime. This is totally unacceptable!

As a Southeast Asian American, I am not familiar with the behavior of the African American teenage women that I see every day in these fast food restaurants. Is this a savage ritual that was learned in the jungles of Africa? How come we do not see other American racial groups behaving this way?

Well, there are white Americans with the same behavior. You can look up Denny's fights. Also, there is a white lady who attacked white and black Mcdonald's employees over chicken nuggets. It's all on youtube. Violence isn't race or gender specific.

This has nothing to do with ethinicity. These two females are filled with hate and have no business being out in public with other people. I have been blessed to know women of all soco-econmic groups and none of them would have done this. These two were looking for a fight. People run from the truth if it makes them uncomfortable...show me one instance of this type of behavior from ANY other ethnic group taking place in public in full view of bystanders cheering...???
