Unfortunate Veterans Day Reminder,  Afghanistan War Continues, Paratrooper's Body Found

Unfortunate news out of Afghanistan, as one of those two missing 82nd Airborne paratrooper’s bodies has been found.

Afghanistan's Defense Ministry had believed that the deaths and injuries more than likely happened  during an air attack by NATO forces during the hostilities.

NATO authorities are investigating whether some of the casualties were caused by a friendly fire airstrike.

KABUL (AP) — Military divers have found the body of one of two U.S. soldiers who went missing last week as they tried to recover airdropped supplies that fell into a river in western Afghanistan, NATO said Wednesday. The two paratroopers, from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, disappeared in Badghis province, a remote area that borders Turkmenistan, on Nov. 4. Local police had said the two had been swept away by the river as they tried to recover the supplies.

AA88 LNQBG: . . .when a number is up, it's up! Nothing that we can do. Stay in the boat as much and as long as you can. But it sure says a hell of a lot about a military (doesn't it?) that has the wherewithal to send out divers that have the expertise to successfully recover the body of a fallen soldier . . .
