Yes, President Obama was re-elected. I guess Mitt Romney running on calling the federal emergency agency of our nation, FEMA, as immoral, didn't work out too well after Hurricane Sandy. We won't have Romney commanding us like he commanded young women when he was a Mormon Bishop.

Of course there is a bunch of sour grapes among the right-wing, but that can be expected. They don't realize that people voted for Obama for a host of reasons. Much better on gay rights, much better on curbing and meeting climate change, much better at reducing unnecessary military spending, much better at Wall Street regulations; but to them people voted for Obama to just get "free stuff." Yes, that is what they are saying.

Of course there are many Republicans on unemployment and Medicaid and there are military contractors who want the "stuff" of military contracts but that is a different story, of course.

Now, on gay rights, Maryland, Maine and Washington voters voted for marriage equality for their friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. The people of Minnesota voted down a state ban. This is the Waterloo momement of the anti-gay agenda, those who wish to futher fear and hatred among gays. Those times are over, well, at least for most of the nation. But they will soon be over even in states where U.S. Senators proudly proclaim they never had any gay family members. Yes, that has happened, see Oklahoma.

Washington and Colorado legalized marijuana. No, not medical marijuana (which they had already did) but marijuana itself. At least for personal possession. . By the way, excellent job, Tuesday, people of Washington state! Numerous towns across America passed pro-legalization resolutions.

While a pro-medical marijuana vote didn't pass in Arkansas, just the fact that such a vote came out in one of the states that the religious right-wing still largely control, shows how much progress we have made. The days of the idiotic anti-marijuana laws are starting to come to an end. It's a long road ahead, but we can meet the challenge.
