Video: NC Church Plans Halloween Book Burning

A small North Carolina Baptist Church plans to have a Halloween book burning celebration, even though it is illegal. A $25,000 fine will be levied against The Amazing Grace Baptist Church if they go through with their planned book burning celebration.

The Pastor Marc Grizzard say the event will go forward, mainly because they are raising money to build a church.

Here are some excerpts from their website:

We will also be burning Satan's music such as country , rap , rock , pop, heavy metal, western, soft and easy, southern gospel , contemporary Christian , jazz, soul, oldies but goldies, etc.

We are not burning Bibles written in other languages that are based on the TR.

We will be serving Bar-b-Que Chicken, fried chicken, and all the sides.

If you have any books or music to donate, please call us for pick-up. If you like you can drop them off at our church door anytime. Thanks.

this country is SICK. i am ashamed to live in it, among these kind of demented people. my town is just as sick as this one, but they hide their illness under a mask of "normal politeness" and it is making me insane. i get harassed via borough ordinances that i'm not really violating, etc...

Why is it sick to burn books they own? Why are they demented to get rid of things they no longer agree with?

Did they come to your house and steal your books to burn?

I take it you go by the adage that it is okay for other to have an opinion or belief...as long as it agrees with yours?

Have to be incredibly sick to say that in a public forum, Rory.

Do others know you actually owned disco records? Are you emotionally unstable? Have you been screened for dementia or a possible loss of rhythm? Lose your funky beat?
