Vincent Smith II died in a New Jersey processing plant after falling in to a vat of chocolate; he was only a temporary worker at the Cocoa Services Inc. plant.
It was 10:30 am on Wednesday morning, when Vincent Smith was standing on a plank above the vat of melted chocolate where it was mixing to be made into chocolate bars when he unexpectedly fell in. A co-worker tried to shut off the machine and pull Vincent out, but it appears he died from a hit to the head from the agitator that mixes the chocolate.
Fox News reported he was in the vat of boiling chocolate for 10 minutes before rescue crews arrived on the scene. When the ambulance crew finally pulled him out he was dead.
The chocolate was mixed at 120F and was bound for Hershey bars somewhere in the U.S.
A similar accident occurred in 2002 when a 19-year-old fell in the a vat of mixing chocolate in Montgomery County.
