Yesterday night I received a disturbing email. A friend of mine had forwarded the email to me who had also received it from one of his friends, who got it from one of his – a typical way these days information is shared. It was not the way of receiving the email but its content which disturbed me. The email described one of the most heinous crimes and one which was committed by the custodian of the law sitting at the highest office.

The email’s message read: Farah Hameed Dogar, daughter of ex-Chief Justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar has been murdered by her father. It was an honor killing in response to her marrying a boy without her father’s consent. The email continued to claim that the ex-Chief Justice Hamid Dogar is enjoying full immunity under the patronage of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

This is a very very serious allegation, and whoever has started the story should be traced and inquired about his/her source. In the meanwhile the accused party also needs to take immediate steps.

I think the Chief Justice or any of his spokesperson should address the media immediately to put an end to this rumor mill, otherwise, the more the accused party delays more credibility the rumor would get. News like these when start floating on the Internet only take a fraction of time to turn into a wildfire after which there is no stoppage and at that point even a fiction becomes a fact.  One can handsomely recall the story of no Jews in the World Trade Center on 9/11. No one knows who started the rumor but only because there was no response the rumor mill went into an overdrive and now it has become a fact to the 99% of the world.

In the end I would like to add my personal feelings that if this story turns out to be true, then the perpetrators of this crime should be tried in the International Court to set an example to the rest of the world. If people at such prestigious posts carry out such heinous acts, what hope the poor have of these countries?

raqibshah.wordpress.com/2012/03/29/a-students-investigation-into-the-murder-of-farah-dogar/Hi there, I only read about Farah Dogar's story today but I found the above website/blog. I'm not sure if its true but check out the last comment posted by the writer of the blog that is investigating her case. He confirms that she is still alive and the claims are not true. I obviously cant be 100% that he wasn't just being made to write that by someone, but it adds to the 'false claim' pile. I hope it is for Farah's sake. xx
