The teen has been found that's all the information that was given for now.

AMBER ALERT

Virginia Beach police are still searching for a missing 16-year-old boy who disappeared from the 3000 block of Sandpiper Road on Friday. Marcus Olson suffers from a severe mental illness. The Richmond teen may be headed back towards his home. Beach police say their K-9 units have followed his trail toward North Carolina and want Currituck County residents there to be on the lookout. Olson is 5'8, 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, light blue basketball shorts and dirty white tennis shoes. If you have any information about this case, contact Virginia Beach Police Communications Center at (757) 385-5000.

I will Rhonda, the boy wondered off and the family thinks he took off to NC which is about 80 miles from where they were camping. I hope he's ok.

Actually, though the wildlife reserve, it's about a 15 mile walk to the NC line.

To clarify...from the camp site in Sandbridge.  It's probably an 80 mile drive from Sandbridge to Corolla (or Carova, where I have family members).  It may also be 80 miles from Va Beach proper to Corolla.  I lived in Sandbridge within site of the camp site and Baja restaurant, which is right next to the entrance to the camp site.  Marcus is a good kid, and I hope and pray that he is alright.  I know him through homeschooling extra-curricular activities.

You have a swamp to go thru as well. He'd need a boat to get over. It used to be that way anyway.

I am so worried for this young boy. I hope and pray that somebody finds him real soon. This heat has been awful. I would think that somebody would call this in to the police, if they have helped him or seen him. He had to have gotten water from somewhere. Please keep this up to date.
