Voice Report from markmayhew
"Hi this is Mark Mayhew on the Bolivar Peninsula. I am, brought the ferry over to, of the Bolivar Peninsula today and that's what I thought the trip was gonna be about and the ferry is fun like ferries always are. They are painted in bright, primary colors colors and you ride over the Bolivar Peninsula and there's pelicans all around and dolphins are following the ferry. Then you have one inkling that something might be a miss this guy on the ferry pointed out to me all this (wood?) floating in Galveston Bay. This is from houses, they used to be houses and you get over to Bolivar Peninsula and I ask this guy where can I get some coffee and he said Tikis Bar is the only place that is open. It's a mile down the road. Well I'm (riding?) my (bike?) and it's more like 4 or 5 miles and it's 4 or 5 miles of trash and devastation and the trashes on along the highway and if there's any breaks in the trash and you can see. I know we got take cares. There's houses where it used to be (??) it's just a roof and you don't know where the house, what happened to the house and ride along and there's cattle and snakes. Too many snakes dead ones and live ones. Snakes run over by cars and snakes trying to bite at your feet. I never saw anything like it. Then you make it at Tickies Bar and that's cool. There's people there and it's in Crystal Beach and they've I got my coffee and the owner didn't even make pay for it (??)" ...more. Please listen to your voicemail for the remainder of this message.

thanks for the recommendation, I hope you all appreciate what I went through to get these pics, dodging snakes and being very discreet (there were handpainted "u loot we shoot" signs all over the place, and I don't think they hold photographers in much higher regard).

Thanks for taking the trouble to get the photos - I guess you added these later so didn't see them straightaway.
