"Hi, this is Mark Mayhew in Galveston and last week I talked about the housing crisis in Galveston and this week I'm gonna talk about the job crisis in Galveston, and again, this is just me, maybe other people will find it different but when I got to Galviston I was busy, I was busy helping rebuild, doing clean up and construction and demolition and I was busy, and then I hurt my back and had to go back to the restaurant business and that's all they have other than construction, there's restaurants and hotels (??) atleast as I see it is really slow and I'm getting frustrated and thinking of going back to Houston or New Orleans where I'm from and then today I'm reading about community funded journalism and I went to (??) that word and set up a page 'cause I do a lot of volunteer work in Galveston, I've done some work for Moody United Methodist Church?) doing clean up work and I teach a lot of (??) survivors how to use the internet and social media with my- I've got a laptop with mobile broadband so I'm gonna put a link in of course, feel free to support your favorite citizen journalist in Galviston and that'll help keep me here and I will put links to I'll let you know Flickr, uploading photos and Twitter is my main stay and (??)" ...more. Please listen to your voicemail for the remainder of this message.

The pics, btw, are of a volunteer project that I worked on thru Moody Methodist Church (the only pic that was of a paid job is my Latino friend Juan, who is finishing sheetrock.
As mentioned, here's the link to my page on Fundable.org (your support will help me continue my efforts (cleaning up, teaching the internet/social media to survivors of Hurricane Ike, and providing near real-time digital journalism from the front lines of post-Ike Galveston):

Given the situation you are in...I don't know if you have time to consider how this would help people in the US. I posted the link just the same..Hope and wish you the best.
