This is Sergei Blair reporting from North Philadelphia.

Breaking news: Apparently two Philadelphia police officers were shot - one shot in the head, one shot in the neck. The suspect is dead.

We've seen a lot of FBI and crime scene agents [unclear] all over the street. There are countless police officers on the scene.

Helicopters are hovering all over the air. As we're learning, two Philadelphia police officers were shot, both in critical condition at Temple University hospital. Suspect is dead and we also have a report that a woman has been arrested and has been brought in for questioning.

That's all for now. I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of news reports of what's happening within a few hours.

One police officer has been killed and one has been wounded after a shooting in North Philadelphia this afternoon.

Authorities in Philadelphia say two police officers have been wounded in a confrontation in a residential area of the city's north side.

A third person was fatally wounded at the scene Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities have not said what sparked the early afternoon shooting but news reports have labeled the dead man as a suspect.

The wounded officers have been taken to a hospital. Officials say one of them had wounds to his chest and head and the other officer was shot in the hip.
