EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Michael Yon Handcuffed by TSA in Seattle Airport

Famous freelance war correspondent and blogger Michael Yon got detained and handcuffed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport today. It is alleged Yon did not answer some of the security questions, such as who he worked for and what his income was. Yon claims he thought the questions were inappropriate and irrelevant to airport security.

Yon said he was never treated so badly in any other country he has visited. Yon posted a disgruntled remark on his Facebook page saying, "Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make. (The uniformed ones say I was not "arrested", but they definitely handcuffed me.) Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security. Port authority police eventually came -- they were professionals -- and rescued me from the border bullies."

Yon has previously written on security handling. As recently as January 4, Yon also posted an entry on his blog describing the reluctance of the Canadian military to allow the dissemination of information that Yon supplied regarding the four Canadian soldiers and journalist killed on December 30 in Afghanistan.

Yon is a former Green Beret and has spent more time embedded with combat units than any other journalist in Iraq.

Airport security throughout the United States has been especially tight in the wake of the failed Christmas Day plane bomb attempt. Just today, two security scares have turned out to be false alarms at Bakersfield and Minneapolis Airports.

Yon has an interesting facebook page.  He describes an incident on the page concerning the recovery of the last 4 Canadians killed, including the journalist.

Videos and audios?  What makes one think they are even running?  They weren't during the security scare in Newark the other night.  0_0

A journalist who is not embedded and represents people, not governments, sticks to ethics associated with factual, unbiased and objective reporting faces same fate.If Yon were not a freelancer but on a payroll of a newspaper,he would have been fired.

Don't even go to the US: I advise not travelling there and avoiding all the hassles. The world's a big place and full of opportunity and fun people.
