War Imminent, U.S. a shoe in for "support"

Several major media outlets have eluded that war between Israel and Iran is imminent.

MSNBC ran an article today on it's news site regarding a bombing that took place in Jerusalem. According to the article "The attacks appeared to have been carried out with sticky bombs attached to cars by magnets. Similar weapons were used against Iran's nuclear scientists, feeding suspicions that the new bombings were a retaliation crafted to mirror those attacks."

After the U.N. and the International Energy Agency reported that Iran was enriching uranium for the purposes of creating a nuclear weapon, top Iranian scientists were murdered in cold blood with the same style of "sticky bombs" that were used in the Jerusalem bombings. No one has claimed responsibility for the initial attacks on the Iranian scientists. However, according to NBC News, MEK fighters (the People's Mujahedin of Iran) are assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists and are being "financed, trained and armed by Israel's secret service." Iran claims that the recent bombings that killed embassy officials in Jerusalem were the work of the Israeli's themselves as what can be described as a "false flag" attack.

Israel and Iran have long been at odds. Tensions have increased exponentially in recent months due to a perceived attempt by Iran to become a nuclear power. Iranian Gen. Masoud Jazayeri has made a public statement that “The enemies of the Iranian nation, especially the United States, Britain and the Zionist regime (Israel) have to be held responsible for their activities.” This has only exacerbated the situation while solidifying the rest of the worlds belief that Iran is indeed attempting to place itself in the position of threatening the nation of Israel.

What has not been reported on is that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejadhas gotten tremendous support from his people during this tense standoff with Israel and ostensibly the United States. In the streets of many cities throughout the country there has been demonstrations in support of the Iranians right to seek nuclear capabilities.

With tensions at the level they are now it is only a matter of time before there is an all out war between the Israeli's and Iran. With the support that has been given to Israel from the United States in the past it is hard to imagine that the U.S. will not lend it's support in this situation as well.

Support, in this sense, could mean anything from intelligence, to a commitment of personel on the ground in an all out invasion, not unlike the invasion of Iraq by U. S. troops in 2003. In any event the United States it seems will be embroileed in yet another conflict. With an economy that is already suffering from poor international relations, and an entire generation of Americans growing up while their country has been at war with a micddle eastern nation, it is entirely likely that it will be quite some time before we ever see the "peace" from the political promisses of "peace and prosparity".

I am pleased this is an opinion piece and not REALITY. Fantasy is more like it. It is the desperate need of the main stream media to create drama about the possible attempt by Israel to attack Iran. Living in this region I can say with full confidence that it not going to happen unless Iran truly makes  arrangements for an all out attack against Israel.

I also strongly disagree that the Iranian people are behind the Iranian Government in its support for the destruction of Israel. In fact according to very reliable sources just the opposite is the case. Yes, the regime can bring out a crowd to the streets considering more often then not the folks have no choice but to respond.

Also, what "stand off"are you referring to? Israel isn't a participant at the OK Corral.

In fact many Iranians are deeply worried about Iran using Nuclear capability for the express purpose of being aggressive and domineering in the region. This isn't a Israeli-Iranian disagreement. There are no claims by Israel on Iran. Actually, it should be an international concern since nuclear capability by Iran will destroy not only the entire Middle East but much of the world including your backyard. Iran, being non-Arab couldn't care less how many people they destroy in the process. This includes there own population.

Just look at the situation in Syria. Reported today that Syrian army is using nerve gas on their own people in Homs. Where is the outage! The weakness of the West and Arab States to support intervention sends a strong message to these tyrants that they are safe to do almost anything they want to keep themselves in power. This includes the mass killing of it's own people.

While I always welcome criticism, I have not fully given my personal opinion in this piece. I simply stated the way things look from way over here in the U.S. Please feel free to enlighten me on how government officials can get all those people to come out and demonstrate in all those towns throughout the whole country? It sure doesn't look like it's just a few people. I can see that you are an avid supporter of Israel as a nation state. That is another matter all together. But it would seem as though you let your enthusiasm overtake your reasoning to the point of bias. This is not an insult I am simply stating what it looks like to me.

I appreciate your assessment. Let us use the unions in the States only as an example to make my point. When the union tells the rank and file to come to a demonstration, the not said,  (Or Else) is implied. Many show up not necessarily in favor of the regime but with really no choice. In Iran and other places the leadership in different fields makes it very clear that they must come out and show government support.

China  and the former Soviet Union were prime examples of this phenomena years ago.

When Jews are interviewed in Iran about  how they are treated it is under duress that the Jewish leadership speaks positively.

Where is the outage! The weakness of the West and Arab States to support intervention  Same place where it was when Israel used phosphorous and indiscriminate bombings on Gaza. the same place when Israel used cluster bombs in Lebanon. Same place it always is in the region...MIA

Not verified, come out of the closet and then maybe we have a chance of straightening out your lies. It is very embarrassing reading your tired accusations while hiding in the CLOSET.
