Honolulu, Hawaii south side of Oahu looking from west to east and to the left of Koko Head crater they came over the high ground just beyond housing subdivision, about three miles away. The lights came in waves of two to three in each group and at intervals of about ten minutes apart. From a distance unknow they apeared as a small faint dot. One then two and sometimes a third one, and they moved across the dark back ground getting brighter and larger heading in my direction. They moved together but not in fomation. they were deffinetly independent lights not attached to each other. No abrupt movements, just a steady pace getting closer and closer. Then one by one they stopped almost right over my house. I was really scared but I couldn't take my eyes off them. I couldn't determine if they were spinning or just stangely shimmering as they momentarily hovered for maybe a minute or so and then they went staight up until they disapeared. The whole time I know there were fireworks going off. It's crazy here on New Years, like a war zone. It's nonstop arials, firecrackers, cherrybombs, and rockets exploding from dusk till well after midnight. The smoke builds and gets real thick to where you can't see beyond two or three houses down your street, but the odd lights were very visable. I would guess they were well above it all because I don't recall seeing them mixed in with all the sparkles rizing, arching, and falling to the ground. The odd lights moved unaposed slowly, steadily across the night sky as if they were watching and enjoying the show. I did manage to get my camera between waves and got a few good steady shots of these UFO's. I have since run them through some photo editing software. In particular I adjusted the brightnes and contrast and got some interesting results. I was able to see where the outer most edge of the object masked out the background sky. These thing all looked the same but not identical, and are about twice the diameter of the glowing light you could see with your naked eye. They looked like they were spherical but I can't be certain of that. But, most certainly they all emitted a very bright white continuous light from there center, less than a quarter the diameter of the over all. Out from center the bright white mixes with a bright yellow. Slightly further out from center it is bright yellow continuous light now at one third overall diameter. Next, turning and mixing yellow with orange to orange and fading with intensity seeing ocasional red then very dim brown and then the backgrond sky. Within the dim brown region there are cicular shapes and there is a circle on top with two lines from circle edge to edge passing thru the circle center forming a cross. the bottom of th objects had faded horizontal lines evenly spaced looking similar to a shock wave. I am interested if anyone else with photos has come up with similar results by adjusting the lighting. What ever it is it was deffinetly out there and globally around the same time. I saw these UFO's between 10:00 - 11:00 pm give or take a half hour hawaii standard time New Years Eve 2010/2011.

willow-vale nsw australia at 9:05 pm 31/12/2010 i saw an incredibly bright orange ball in the sky travelling at 50-60 kms an hour in a southerly direction i estimated the height as 4-500 metres off the ground i followed it for about 1km until it dissapeared out of view over bowral , this was not a chinese lantern! it was a still evening and the object was incredibly bright like a fire ball / boiling flame no noise was heard and it was witnessed by another person .

I saw the exactly same thing (2 bright balls, like a camp fire from far away) during the fireworks right at 12am in Orlando, FL. I kept it to myself at first thinking it could be from the fireworks.. but then everyone at the party ended up noticing it as well. They flew diagnally up, one after the other like they were playing chase at a walking speed.. then shot away and disappeared. They lingered around for about 5 minutes.
