Today is obviously a colossal news day.  But it is also a milestone in new media.  This is the first Presidential inauguration in the time the 2.0 web.  With CNN pairing with Facebook, thousands of twitterers commenting in real-time and live streaming video coming from cell phones, this is a day when all the rules change

It is a colossal day for the USA, not for the World. Here the day went by with normal news as always.

I think that having the most expensive inauguration in US history is inappropriate during a huge reccession and while the US is still at war.  I hope his future decisions are arrived upon with more consideration for the optics they create.

A message to the Editors: Why did you remove my comment without any note. With the equipment you have the Frontpage story was quiet poor . Only repeating incoming comments, does not replace a real coverage. When CNN was ful reporting Nowpublic was sleeping with non related articles. Where are the crowd powered Articles, or did we give that up ?

Second why did you remove my Article (by the way the first with inauguration pictures) from the roll after 9 hours only posting Editor Articles instead ?

Some press democracy to learn, you should at least have a phone number to call.

May I suggest a spell check on this?  You know that whole thing about people in glass houses and stone throwing, right?

Some interesting observations from Ad Age on the use of media during this event:

By the time final numbers are crunched tomorrow morning, President Barack Obama's inauguration likely will have been watched by more people and on more platforms than virtually any other televised event in U.S. history -- including the Super Bowl. This year's biggest winner: the web, with cable news, social networks and even sports leagues capturing a record share of viewers tuning in and live-blogging online throughout the afternoon.
