Already food deficient country, the water crisis in Pakistan has further deepened and experts have feared that the next wheat crop might be badly affected by the irrigation water shortage.

Water shortage in Pakistan has reached an alarming 35 per cent and the crisis could affect crops of the fall sowing season that has just begun.

Official sources said Tuesday the government has called a top-level meeting of the provincial irrigation ministers, members of the National Assembly standing subcommittee on water and power and the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) chairman to review the situation.

Find water or make more from seawater--desalinization.  California is looking at Antarctica as a source of fresh water.  Why not Pakistan?  Just tow a few icebergs and problem solved.

Fairbanks, thank you very much for flag and valuable suggestions but who'll do it? One can't expect it from the Pakistani rulers and I think you would agree that it is not job of public because of involved costs and various other important issues.

No, I wouldn't agree to that.  But, being an American I have been raised to think first of how to get it done without government.  All they need is a few ships and some rope.  On shore they need a place to park the icebergs and gather the fresh water.  A couple bulldozers would get that done.  Run some pipe up north.

I think you would agree that it is not job of public because of involved costs and various other important issues

Also, the ice cap on Antarctica is growing rapidly and presents an unexpected danger of unbalance.  Reduce the ice cap, get past the drought, make some money, and restore rotational balance to the planet all at once.
