48 minors have been trapped and killed in crossfire this year. Antonio Avila has been the most recent victim on Monday night, victim of a hand grenade explosion in Zacatecas. Omar Castañeda Valencia 16, was killed on Sunday during a shootout in his neighborhood Colonia Heroes de la Revolucion in in Parral, Chihuahua.

62 presumed criminals were arrested at children's party in Tijuana including the music band performing at the place . It was a baptism celebration. The members of the drug cartel were heavily armed.

Seventeen people were killed in a wave of weekend violence in northern Mexico's Ciudad Juarez, a border city torn by a drug war pitting rival cocaine cartels against each other, police said.

Among the incidents reported by police was a brazen attack that left three men dead when assailants armed with assault rifles fired on a children's party.
