Well I see the words dithering today but not much on what he is really doing in todays news. Right of course it’s the weekend and the newshounds of course take Saturday off and do the shopping and having a very easy restful day.

So how the hell do I find out what Obama is actually doing without a press release and then there is the factor I am a bit cut off here on the Island of Negro’s. Seeing that I hate inventive journalism and I really feel like looking for that big story before it really unfolds.

Hold on a moment I am connected to the internet and so is the White House, Wow that’s hell of a Photograph of the man. Takes up most of the web index page, yep I was right to smell there is a breaking news story in the air.

First off, Obama has now decided to send 21,001.5 troops  to Afghanistan and not 60,000 nor 40,000 as some people expect. Yes he has made up his mind its all there in black and white.

Guiding Principles

The Obama Administration is investing in a strong, agile, well-trained, and well-equipped U.S. military that can fight and win the nation’s wars. U.S. Armed Forces must be able to prevail in current operations and the missions they are most likely to face, while developing capabilities to deter potential adversaries and provide a hedge against other risks and contingencies. Our policies will incorporate lessons from our experience in Iraq and Afghanistan. First and foremost, we will ensure that our troops have the training, equipment and support that they need when they are deployed, and the care that they and their families need and deserve.

Right well now you know then of course lets have a look what Obama has been doing while the propagandist say its been nothing… lol

Well that just too much for me to address at this moment I will need to take a few days that at present I just can not afford to spend, (I am actually too lazy).

Well let me tell you where President Obama is learning military strategy from… (you, will be surprised for sure)

As you stand on the front lines of two wars, we want to make sure we are hearing from you and communicating clearly. The White House and the Department of Defense are proud to launch a joint project called "Troop Town Hall."  This initiative allows troops from across Central Command to submit their questions by email, text or video and allows participants to vote for the questions that think are the most important.   At the conclusion of the program, the President and Secretary Gates will answer the top questions (President Obama promises not to give all the hard ones to Secretary Gates).

No generals were hurt or injured through out this military exercise and Obama now can be considered as being in the know and now able to produce a very viable strategic plan and I must admit it was a brilliant plan to ask the forces on the ground, lol.  The general tend to not really know what’s really going on and the grunts on the ground wished it really was not. Lol

Recovery facts….

Right I really get fed up with anti Obama-ist picking figures out of the air well you want facts visit http://www.recovery.gov/Pages/home.aspx

Then we have the truth on Economy planning..

Guiding Principles

President Obama’s central focus is on stimulating economic recovery and helping America emerge a stronger and more prosperous nation. The current economic crisis is the result of many years of irresponsibility, both in government and in the private sector. As we look toward the future, we must confront the many dimensions of this crisis while laying the foundation for a new era of responsibility and transparency.

Creating Jobs

President Obama’s first priority in confronting the economic crisis is to put Americans back to work. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan signed by the President will spur job creation while making long-term investments in health care, education, energy, and infrastructure. Among other objectives, the recovery plan will increase production of alternative energy, modernize and weatherize buildings and homes, expand broadband technology across the country, and computerize the health care system. The recovery plan will save or create about 3.5 million jobs while investing in priorities that create sustainable economic growth for the future.

Keeping Americans in Their Homes

Millions of hard-working, responsible families are at risk of losing their homes as home prices fall and jobs are threatened. The Making Home Affordable Refinancing program will expand access to refinancing for up to 4 to 5 million families who are current on their mortgages but otherwise unable to refinance because their homes have lost value. The Making Home Affordable Modification program has a $75 billion commitment to support loan modifications so that up to 3 to 4 million borrowers at risk of foreclosure can keep their homes. President Obama’s programs to prevent foreclosures will help bolster home prices and will provide direct support to up to 9 million homeowners to refinance for lower payments or have their mortgages modified to prevent foreclosure. President Obama also launched MakingHomeAffordable.gov, where borrowers can learn basic facts about mortgages, homeownership, and resources available.

Bringing Stability to Financial Markets

This crisis has taught us the real impact that financial markets and institutions can have on working families. President Obama has worked to get credit flowing again so that small businesses can rebuild and hire workers and families can afford to send their children to college. At the same time, the President has demanded accountability and transparency both on Wall Street and in Washington, taking steps to ensure that banks use taxpayer assistance to support lending and create sustainable economic growth. For the long term, the President will create a new regulatory framework that holds market players responsible for their actions and stops fraudulent practices before they take hold.

There are pages and pages, showing what is being done and what has been done on the White house website. Seemingly president Obama is more vibrant in the efforts of keeping his promises than some people would wish you to think.  The guy is working damn hard.

It’s in fact a citizens journalist dream as many a story can be obtained the White House web site is more informant that it has ever been under other administrations.

Babel - you should do a series on why Fox news Channel isn't a News Channel - starting with "How many other American News channels have produced, propagated, funded and produced programs directly attacking the current administration (albeit a Democrat one - who Fox and Murdoch do not like at all)" eg, Glenn Beck's tea parties/9-12 project etc.

Could this be why so many around the world are losing respect for American News organisations - and why corporations are really in control of how Americans think? Or, better still, why one ex-Australian is fecking up America?

That would be an interesting slant don't ya think?

hmmmmn food for thought, however fox is a news channel, yep its their kind of news slice prepared with political indoctrination plus the beautiful dressing of propaganda with a slicker of foxy sauce, that states "we are fair and balanced". lol

Great article should be posted alone but needs to be squeezed amongst this negative take you all have.  The article is called , "Five Reasons Why President Obama Should Go on Fox"

My favorite is #5.

1. Fox’s audience is very broad and diverse politically—contrary to popular opinion. It is watched by a mostly white Middle America, an independent/centrist leaning public that is very likely to vote in the off-year elections (2009) and in 2010. By not going on Fox, the president is seen as alienating the conservative Democratic and independent/moderate Republican voters who helped to elect him. This is a mistake as it feeds into the worst kind of stereotypes about the president as some crazed left-wing puppet who associates himself with people like Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers.

2. By having a public battle with FOX, which is viewed as a mostly white, conservative news organization that helped spark the tea parties and anti-health care rallies/town halls, the president runs the risk of being seen as disinterested and/or dismissive of conservative southern whites.

3. The president is missing an opportunity to build support with the so-called right in regard to his military position in Afghanistan. FOX viewers support strong national defense and defeating the terrorists in the Middle East. They support the president staying in Afghanistan and sending more troops if needed. Obama should play to this base with the things they agree on.

4. On health care, again, the president has missed an opportunity to speak to “Middle America” which is more likely to watch FOX than the average CNN and MSNBC viewer who is more likely to be well-educated with higher earnings.

5. Lastly, and most importantly, the president is the president of all the people regardless of their political views. FOX is a part of the free press that we all revere and support in America. So what if they are more conservative, more “right-leaning”—the president should address those citizens even if the filter through which FOX portrays him may not always be favorable.

As President Obama said during his Feb. 3, 2009 interview with FOX News anchor Chris Wallace, “I think it's fair to say that I don’t always get my most favorable coverage on FOX, but I think that's part of how democracy is supposed to work. You know, we’re not supposed to all be in lock step here.”

Sophia A. Nelson has been published, among other places, in the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and Politico. She writes often for The Root.

I wasn't bored with the story. Nice come back. It won't matter to the "critics." He'll still be a fascist, communist, Muslim that isn't an American citizen. I saw it all on FOX "news."  Why do these people hate America?

Well where do you want me to start (tongue in cheek).

What we can infer at this moment is that neo-cons are hell-bent on discrediting Obama as fear looming larger every passing day that Iraq war may be brought to an end by Obama.

His Pak-Afghan strategy needs more pragmatic approach.Increase in US troops won't help improve situation on Pak Afghan border. It may give more fillip to terror groups and spillover to India cosntitutes greater threat to stability in the region.Afghan policy must be formulated within sphere of ground realities of the region.Strategic interests or alignments don't work in every situation.

I see the lefties are having a ball here  Those 21,000 troops are almost there bring the total to 68,000.  Nice piece of propaganda by the White House.

I have no problem with those on the Left taking on FOX but please be fair and take on MSNBC too.

The_Cynic

Karl, when have MSNBC staffed, produced, funded demonstrations against the administration of the day? Do they have a laftish bias - yeah. But I have never read or heard of them advocating anything like the tea-parties or 9-12 or anything else as such.

albertacowpoke

My dear friend,  you must watch MSNBC more often and perhaps look at what was done during the Bush years.  I don.t support the Bush policies, but what is fair is fair.  The White House staff, including the President must grow a little thicker skin.  People can chose not to watch FOX or MSNBC, that.s what Free Press, freedom of choice and free speech are all about.  Every dog has its day.

1
The_Cynic

I 'try' to watch both, Karl. I did see what happened to Bush in his years - and I also saw what his administration did to the American people with the help of a great deal of reading both sides.

I have my bias, I know I do, but my bias was formated by watching how both sides did things.

I see the consequences now. My left bias was pushed further and further leftward by people like Cheney, Bush, Rove and Murdoch. They have not just left the US in a worse state - they have left the world in that state, too.

I have said many times that MSNBC has a leftish (American left) bias - but they do report the news and not make it. What has happened to the middle-class over the last 8 years has to come down to Bush. When Obama leaves office after his 2 terms, we can then see how he has left the US - personally I think it will be better, the rightists don't.

Babel I think those are the 21,000 he approved in March.  That brings the total to 68,000 for now

"I really get fed up with anti Obama-ist picking figures out of the air"

I do too, so i followed your link to recovery.gov.
Turns out the current keeper of all wisdom doesn't think we need a recovery out here in the sticks. Haven't got a single dime to date.

According to the ABC Omaha station, Nebraska has received 2 billion in stimulus funds. Most of the money is going towards subsidizing the state' medicaid outlays. (Approx. 360 million) Officials said Nebraska’s shovel-ready construction projects are also benefiting from the federal stimulus package. A total of $21 million dollars will be used to upgrade Omaha’s interstate system. That includes the interchange system near Creighton University.“Because of the stimulus we started the project this fall, and it will be completed fall 2010 to spring of 2011. Hopefully it will be completed before the College World Series begins in 2011,” said Nebraska Department of Road engineer Tim Weander.s medicaid shortfalls.

Bureaucratic paperwork and squabbling between state and federal officials are slowing the process of disbursement. Only 20% of the 787 billion dollar stimulus package has been spent to date. An additional 600 billion is still up for grabs.

If you want a few dimes, go see Ben.

So, the gummit has made a mistake, eh?

oooh, i hate it when that happens.

to be fair, i only checked the gummit site. Further checking reveals this from the local paper:

The $41 million downtown project that began in July 2005 had been expected to take 3 1/2 years to complete. It's now estimated the project will be finished sometime in 2010.

Not exactly a "stimulus" package as such....just got the money without the budget hassles - thus sooner.   Notice that you wrote "shovel ready projects"  This one has been going on for 4 years (typical, 3 1/2 year project, now going to be 5 1/2 years. Gotta love them barricades).

Bureaucratic paperwork and squabbling between state and federal officials are slowing the process of disbursement.

Where have we heard this before? Yep, in New Orleans.

20% is better than the 7% I read.  I hope yours are correct.
