Wendy Alexander, Labour's leader in the Scottish Parliament, is being suspended for one day for failing to declare campaign donations. Alexander maintains she did nothing wrong.

Wendy Alexander claims she is the victim of a political witch hunt after being recommended for suspension from the Scottish Parliament.

Holyrood's standards committee ruled she should be barred for one day for failing to declare donations to her successful campaign to become Labour leader in the parliament.

The punishment is not enough to end chaotic tenure of one of Gordon Brown's closest allies but leaves her damaged.
