Wesleyan Shooting: Suspect Stephen Morgan Still on the Loose

A Wesleyan student was shot at a campus bookstore on Wednesday. Students and staff have been asked to stay indoors as police search for the shooter. The shooting occurred at Broad Street Books in Middletown, Connecticut. Police recovered a gun and wig from the crime scene.

Middletown Mayor Sebastian Guiliano told the Associated Press that shooting was likely not have been random. The Middletown Press is reporting that the shooter is believed to have been the victim's ex-boyfriend of the victim. The 20-year-old woman was shot five times and died shortly afterward.

Suspect Stephen Morgan is still on the loose. Police have warned the town's Jewish community that they may be targetting people of Jewish descent. Administrators also cancelled classes at Wesleyan.

According to WCBS news, the alleged suspect's name is Steve Morgan.

The manhunt is on in Middletown and beyond for 29-year-old Stephen Morgan, who police said is the man in the surveillance photo released to the public. It's unclear where he lives. A Wesleyan spokesman said he has no known connection to the university.
