Certainly a test of a New Parent's mettle when entering the world of caring for a baby and child rearing.

There are many respected books on Child care and child rearing.  Unfortunately many of these well respected books sales are diluted by many young Hollywood "New Mom" Celebrities in Entertainment magazines of Publishing houses.

New Mom celebrities who once they give birth for the first time, announce to the world their new professional  child care advice based on their first initial 90 day experience and offer expert advice on Child care and rearing almost from the "Git Go" . Spewing "Faux Armchair Psychology" figuring their "Celebrity Status" places their expertise into the realm of a Dr. Spock or John Watson.

Media who publish such "Celebrity Tripe" are just as guilty, as is a "Gullible Public"  who rush out to buy a book written by 20 something celebrities child rearing advice "Ghost Written" Book or Article because "Entertainment Tonight or Oprah" said so!

What to expect? New parents don't really know, study findsU.S. respondents flunk questionnaireJULIE STEENHUYSEN, ReutersPublished: 6 hours ago

Nearly one-third of U.S. parents know surprisingly little about typical infant development, and this lack of understanding can rob their babies of much-needed mental stimulation, researchers say.

"There are numerous parenting books telling people what to expect when they're pregnant," said Heather Paradis of the University of Rochester Medical Centre in New York.

"But once a baby is born, an astonishing number of parents are not only unsure of what to anticipate as their child develops, but are also uncertain of when, how or how much they are to help their babies reach various milestones, such as talking, grabbing, discerning right from wrong, or even potty-training," said Paradis, who presented her findings at Pediatric Academic Society meeting in Honolulu.

good stuff:

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff.  Just as an aside..I also "love" how these stupid celebrity moms come out with their own "how to" books on how they raised a huge whore or great drug addicted actress.  You know, something totally cool like that.  All the rednecks would be out in droves at Borders.  I suppose it would probably be their very first book, too!  Oh how sweet...

Thanks to you both, one can only imagine if Amy Whinehouse is able to have kids, what with the copious amounts of drugs she does on a regular basis, and if she does have a kid, chances are it will be Drug Addled at Birth, so in ending, one wonders how Amy will cope with a child already on the road to ruin, and the Book that would come out of it, if she were brave enough to write one about child rearing.  Celebs as well who write "how to" from diet, exercise to lifestyle, really do not have a concept of reality, when the target market they are after are just regular folk who cannot even imagine a celeb lifestyle, yet their diet from personal chefs, or ghost written books on food, wine , lifestyle they pen their names too.   Just like Al Gores articles on Environmentalism, articles written by others and he most likely cuts and paste to call his own.

I will never recommend anything like

Thanks  for the comments ConciousMidWifery, another one is "Responsibility Doesn't End with Conception" something many of these Young Fathers fail to see after having many, many kids, with many, many different Mothers. The Maury "SleazeMeister" Povich Show pretty much is all based on the "Who's Yer Daddy" Show Concept where he brings on a half dozen guests per show with the Mom finding out or accusing the Dad to determine the Baby's and Dad paternity.

Again, thanks for the comments.

Yeah, I agree with you. I have a friend, known her over 40 years, and the father of her only daughter, is one of 'those' guys. I think now, he has a total of 12 children with at least four or more different women.

I made my mother fall off her chair laughing the other day, she was telling me the tale of how this guy, who I've known for years, has a 'wiener dog' now, and he's top in the nation for Frisbee catching or something like that, and I recalled how he was in an MC Hammer video years ago, and how that was all I heard, and perhaps he was in it for a 2.5 second blip, before I could stop myself I blurted out to my Mother "Well, Patrick's wiener has finally made him famous" - thought I lost my mother.

To all the men out there who do maintain integrity in their role as Father's I admire and applaud them all.
