What is Love - A biased mans view
The problem with most relationships is an imbalance of love or really no love at all. The main problem is people do not know what love is. Lust is certainly not love how ever it can be considered as an additive or let’s say an attraction.
People often think they are in love but its actually a factor of being comfortable with the person they are with. In the case of one partner being in love and the other is just there because they feel comfortable or just for the sex. There can never be a union of both partner placing 100% into the relationship nor an equal give and take.
The problem of some one being head over heels in love with someone that does not love them is that someone will take advantage. This is in fact the norm unfortunately and the more selfish the person that is not in love the more used and abused their partner is when the relationship ends.
Children can keep partners together but a real selfish partner that is not in love with their partner. But however loves the children, will always cause big complications that normally lead to unfaithfulness, then a very messy divorce.
I have been in love and the only way I can explain love is that I liked a woman more than I liked myself. Her beauty and grace and personality made me very happy and I just could not do enough for her. Yes lust was involved our sex life was great and fulfilling and I went out of my way to make sure it was for her. I made love to the woman and not for my own benefit. When I was away from her she was always on my mind. But she was not in love with me she proved that by making love to one of my friends.
I must admit that there have been a couple of women that love me to bits, but I did not love them all I was interested in was lust and having my clothes washed.
A person’s life can be ruined by not being in a relationship where both partners love each other and seeing the divorce rates a great percentage of people do, just that. Romance my sound great and may be great but at that stage of making a commitment it’s a damn gamble that could end up in a life or bliss but more and likely end up in misery of one sort or another.
What is love? well only you can find out and unfortunately you may never find out or do and get hurt as your doing all the loving.
Wish you all the best in life's gambles and the strength and ability to pick your self up if the dice comes down on the wrong side.

Thank you so much BF!
Sex is not love - though I can see where it can be confused as such during the "Oh my God" moment.
A woman generally needs to be in love to have sex, but for a man it does not matter. They seem to be able to enjoy it either way. Often times they string the girl along in hopes that someday they will marry her... George Clooney and Justin Timberlake ring a bell? The biggest cads out there!
At the end, it is sad for everyone, because neither is free to find real love.

I liked a woman more than I liked myself. This is closer to the truth.

Are you saying that the honeymoon period might be nature's illusion to fool us into getting married and having children? Then when the drug wears off, it is too late?

Hmmmn yes to put it bluntly but the drug may be there for many years and then one realizes that you have been drugged so to speak. Many people marry and have no clue about its responsibilities men are in fact more prone to that. Then many get married because oh that's what people do don't they.

I think love is different for each person.
It can not be defined in words.
It is a feeling, an emotion
and when shared by two people there is nothing better.
