What would Jesus say?
“For Christ’s sake, get the guns out of here!”
Radicalized Christians are alive and well in Virginia. They still think Native Americans might ambush them on the way home from church. Too bad the Natives lost the opportunity.
“Guns in church? In NoVa, that’s nothing new
By Tom Jackman
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s published opinion last week that it’s fine to bring a gun to church if you’ve got “good and sufficient reason” opened some eyes. But The Post’s Susan Kinzie visits Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield and finds that there have always been guns among the worshipers, just quietly.
Kinzie also informs that it used to be the law in Virginia: You HAD to bring your gun to church. To be ready for any Sunday attacks from the native Americans, apparently. So really, we’re just getting back in touch with our heritage.
Kinzie’s well-researched piece is here.

Then sayeth the Lord:
You have invaded the lands of natives who live peacefully in this space. You are trampling their lifestyle. How about making a retreat back from where you came? Suffer your religious persecution in your own land and don’t export your violence to this pristine place.
Amen

Jesus or in Hebrew Yehoshua had enough troubles of his own to be concerned about some folks carrying guns in Virginia. Romans were our trouble makers. But then again so many others wanting this little piece of land that no one wanted until we got here. hmmm. LOL
Have a happy, peaceful holiday as we in Israel are about to celebrate our personal journey from slavery to freedom. Participating in a life quest that is repeated every year as a reminder of what must not be passed over. The preciousness of life, family and friends.

What would Jesus say to gangstalkers? (Love thy neighbor as thyself; do unto others as you would have them do unto you.) A lot of gangstalkers "say" they are Christians and believe they are defending their country. Pathetic.

Luke John,
In civilized society, law and order is maintained by the police who work for governments of the people, by the people, and for the people so we don't all have to become gunslingers.

Well, Jim, I'm sure there are those among the Religious Right that would disagree with you.
I was extremely surprised to hear adherents of the Religious Right gathered discussing guns saying that Jesus would have been pro guns. Must say I never read that in the scriptures although the speaker who made the statement was sure he was correct, quoting scripture and everything.
'Course, since guns hadn't yet been invented during the time Jesus Christ walked among his disciples, I guess the gun guy's position required a bit of extrapolation.
The comments were included in the HBO documentary, Gun Fight.

God created guns so he/she could find out who is naughty and nice.

The Preacher should have said,
God would say,
..follow me, learn from me, and you won't need weapons.
..God would not want to divide through weakness, he would want to unify through strength.

You can find all the excuses for murdering human beings that you want, but the Bible's injunctures against it are clear. Jesus died rather than allow his followers to murder his persecutors. When Peter drew a sword to defend Jesus against the gangstalkers who came to seize him, Jesus told Peter to put his sword back in the scabbard and healed the wound that Peter had given to one of the gangstalkers. Jesus had the courage to walk the talk; he showed the gangstalkers the most humane way to behave. Yes, it is hard to attain this ideal. We designate police to keep the rest of us from descending into being lynch mobs -- but nowadays the police recruit and encourage people to participate in these vigilante mobs. This is causing ethnic suspicion and strife -- and bullying in schools. People are being "taught" violence by those who should be discouraging it.

Yeah, things have changed for the worse in the US. Not all that long ago, in the Hollywood cowboy movies of the fifties with stars like Gary Cooper, Hollywood made a big deal of teaching audiences about the evils of using lynch mobs to obtain "justice." In the movies the townsfolk always hired sheriffs to save them from the outlaws employed by the rich cattlemen. Nowadays the police work for the rich cattlemen (oil, banking) in the District of Criminals and trick the townsfolk into being their own jailers aka gangstalkers. Well, we get the government we deserve.

Kind of convoluted but I get the point.
