When Do the Clocks Go Forward in 2010? Spring Daylight Savings
When Do the Clocks Spring Forward and Change in 2010? Daylight Saving Time 2010
For residents in the United States and Canada, it is that time of year again, when the clocks spring forward in anticipation of warmer weather to come and residents lose one hour sleep.
Daylight Saving Time Happens on March 14 at 2am in the United States and Canada and this means that you put your clocks forward one hour. So when you wake up on Sunday morning and the clock says 10am, if you did not put it forward before you went to bed then it is actually 11am.
When the clocks do 'spring forward' it means that the daylight hours get longer and the dark hours are shorter, as summer is approaching in the northern hemisphere.
Also, don't forget that when the time does change in Daylight Saving Time, it means that in the United States the names of the time zones change as well. Pacific Standard Time (PST) is now Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and so on.
Daylight Saving Time is Not Observed in All Countries
Many countries in Africa and Asia do not observe any time change.
Parts of Australia (Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory and South Australia), along with New Zealand observe the time change on the first Sunday in April but other parts of the continent do not.
Except for Iceland and Georgia, all countries in Europe observe the time change on the last Sunday in March and clocks go forward one hour.
