When Pro-Palestinian turns anti-Semitic: Why?

In the long history of fighting between them, the latest war between the Israelis and the Palestinians probably offers the most clear-cut storyline to date. However legitimate you consider the Palestinians’ position today, until 2005, it was arguably more defensible than it is now.

This time, there was no “occupying” Israeli forces in Gaza as was the longstanding narrative of an uprising of a colonized people against colonizers; gone is Arafat, whose quasi-secularism and vintage “freedom fighter” image blessed him with eternal sympathy among Europe’s bien peasants.
