Where have all the War Criminals gone to? Right under our nose! News-Opinion.

By, Uwe Paschen.

After the war in former Yugoslavia, after the Serbian and Croatian War and the NATO intervention, the World tried to bring to Justice all the War criminals as well as all those that did participate in the Genocide of Moslem Serb and other ethnical groups in the former Yugoslavia!

Yet, only a hand full where captured and put before the International Court in the Netherlands, the rest vanished and to this day are not to be fund any where.

At least not any where in Europe that is! Some are reported to be in Canada, the USA and even Australia and Argentina. Canada did arrest one that had immigrated some Years ago and is still in the process to send him back to Europe, so he may stand trial there!

Many other however are not accounted for and no one knows where there are, or at least no one may want to know where they are since they do serve us well in securing our energy supply, especially in Africa that is!

More and more reports are coming out over the past two Years that Mercenaries are operating in Sudan, Niger, even Nigeria and Mali as well as Chad! Most of the report are stating that the Mercenaries for the most part Serbian, Bosnian, Croats and every now and then an American or British mercenary is captured as well or Identified!

Maybe our International Court and our so called democratic governments, supposedly upholding and defending Human rights, Justice and moral values need to look at Niger and the Niger Government that is been armed and counselled as well as helped by France, Canada, the USA and GB! And maybe their help does not stop at merely concealing and supplying arms and extracting Uranium, maybe they do also give our wanted war criminals a save heaven and allow them to commit more crimes and secure for us our supply in Uranium, all in a way so we can deny every thing should it go wrong!

Those Serbian War Criminals are known to be rather effective and there for they be little chance that we will lose our supply in blood covered Uranium!

Enjoy Cooking on your electric stove, it is being supplied with cheap energy thanks to Wanted War Criminals that are still killing and torturing innocent people in Niger today, under the watchful eye of the all the members of the security counsel!

How nice to know that Justice is still working in our favour!

I'm very surprised. I'd love to see some of these reports.

Paschen

Some of the reports come from the MNJ (Niger's Movement for Justice), and "Le Republicain du Niger". Yesterday however the offices of the paper have been closed by the authorities and some of the Journalist and staff has been jailed, this not the first time though!

I would go down there my self to find out and take some pictures of those Mercenaries, however I do lack the resources at this time to do that even though I may have enough contacts down there!

rpshen

Offices closed and staff jailed? For publishing these reports?

Paschen

Yes read.: http://www.nowpublic.com/world/discrimination-turning-genocide-niger

I have been following this for some time now! I think I wrote about 5 or 6 articles about it!

The Republicain office was moved out of Niger because of the initial arrest a year ago, however now the office to the South border has been closed as well since Niger made some deal with its neighbours! Their have been many arrest of Journalist and Civilians that would make any Westener furious if it happened any where closer to home!

good stuff:

Paschen, Interesting points on the Yugoslavia war criminals & Mercenaries. It would be nice to bring them to justices and start to heal some of those wounds from this war.

I know some individuals (from all sides) that went through the war in Yugoslavia and there is still much pain and dislikes for each other (that putting it lightly). So I question even as an Mercenaries for hire, if any one of from Serbian, Bosnian or Croatian descent would not kill the other first before taking the time to do the job they're hire for, especially if they figure out who these other Mercenaries are. Although it would be ironic if they know and went for the job 1st, then each other afterwards.

Paschen

Good point, I suppose they do not mix them or pay them so well that are are friends now! And maybe they prefer having to work together as mercenaries rather than face the International Court! I do not know though!

Thank you for the Flag and comment here, Much Appreciated!

My comment would be why war criminals are allowed to remain in power or get away with war crimes such as Tony Blair, GW Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld? There seems to be a problem in the war criminal justice system. On one account is the fact I believe if Tony Blair and GW Bush were attempted to be arrested they would come out firing their guns. In the same response also those who accused of war crimes in Serbia, and Yugoslavia.

And then we run into a similar situation when Saddam was labeled a War Criminal and then a terrorist and the whole nasty act of wars errupt onto the world stage. I would say that bringing justice is a happenstance nomenclature of an enigma that is beyond the journals of achieved law. It would be at our better interest to seek Nonviolence first before seeking so called justice. Justice is a strange occurance. Many would say the people we describe as war criminals gave justice to their counterparts, even to the eradication of thousands of innocent people.

I would recommend that we know they are criminals and that is justice enough. The issue is that we as a people seek the end to Wars by not seeking justice but by seeking avenues to Nonviolence and achieving supporting routes for our social condition. Don't get me wrong I would certainly assert articles of Impeachment to Bush and Cheney, and they are clearly guilty. Yet the contradiction of enforcing justice would require acts of violence to achieve such ends, and in my opinion enforces their argument to use violence. So I do believe Nonviolence wins Justice by implementing and achieving Nonviolent action. That is enough Justice served. They are indeed a disgrace, we have won the argument, and their penalty is forever noted.

Paschen

djermano, good to hear from you, now I do respect your point of view and I can even see why. However even though you're reasoning has some merit it does leave out the fact that innocent and defenceless people get tortured and killed by those wanted War Criminals!

We may at times have to use violence in order to stop a genocide! Ideally we could have a special tool to neutralise those War criminals and just jail them so no more helpless people get killed by them! However falling that we need to act as the Police does wen looking for a Mass murdered or serial killer!

Our main problem today is that our institutions such as the UNO are failing us, yet they are failing us because they very build up is based on the veto power of the five main forces, Namely the USA, Russia, China, France and Great Briton! Giving them excessive power and total immunity, they in turn can protect some of their vassals, such as Sudan and Zwibabwe's Mugabe!

What we need is a new reformed or rebuild UNO without any one having veto powers or special immunities! The USA can actually not be persecuted nor put before an international court according to UN regulations that the US have force upon the UN, same goes for the other veto powers!

Failing a reform at the UN we may have to get every one to leave the organisation and start a new one, sooner or latter the 5 will join in, even without veto power, since they like to have they say and try to control the game. Yet in a new UN this would be much more difficult for them! Two previous UN General Secretaries have tried to reform the UN and to annul the Veto rights of the 5 super powers, they failed mainly because of the USA, France at one point and Russia where willing to conceder reforms!

djermano

I have to disagree Paschen, because there is nothing defenseless people can do about genocide anyway. America killed more people in stopping Saddam with his killing than his initial killing of people. So in my opinion needing force as an excuse to stop genocide is not an answer or solution.

In fact the UN and its peace keeping force does use violence as its repretoire in achieving peace. Using violence against itself does not work, never has, and never will work. Bush was right the UN was irrevelant, but not for the right reasons. Bush wanted more force used, when in fact if I had it my way, my reform efforts would be to get rid of the UN Peace Keeping Force, and go strictly toward nonviolence action.

I have started The International Institute of Nonviolence to replace the UN, because the UN is so out of touch with the education parameters people should learn. Also the US being the biggest arms trafficker and trader does not help stop violence. In fact it increases the trouble.

I would do education to the value in not supporting militaries, not owning guns, and actually doing my best to discredit any arms enforcement organizations. they do no work. Just because the President says he has the right to use force with the use of the military to enact their agenda, does not mean it works, nor does it create trust to the people.

There is always more war and conflict. Even inside the USA who claims the right to bear arms, surely does not stop violence, or reduce crime. America is one crime scene after another.

The International Institute of Nonviolence is a wanted and needed Organization in the world. It just takes time for people to see the light and wisdom of this Institute. I hope you will join me in the effort.

germano, Thank you for the response, I do appreciate it and I would ask you to read the series of article I have written about that area in Niger, in order to get an overall picture of this particular situation! They are all listed on my page, such a s URANIUM..., The end of the Tuaregs..., MNJ..., and so on! Thank you for your comment, I do appreciate it!

Nothing is ever Black or White though!

djermano

I have read your articles and have followed the Niger stories. And that is right; nothing is black or white, so why the need for guns? Afraid of what? People do not trust each other anymore. How is that a good thing?  There are means and ways to communicate to people who we perceive to having problems with. And none include using guns. Its a ball and chain to society. It slows us down. Better to be killed in acts of Nonviolence than to kill. Those who die from Nonviolence are the real hero's in society.

Paschen

That is why we have mediators. Those however can only operate as long as both sides are willing to talk or at least listen! I do agree the real Hero's are the one that uphold non Violence and I actually do not suggest a military intervention or a forceful one!

Serbia captures fugitive Karadzic

Radovan Karadzic is one of the world's most wanted men
Bosnian Serb war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic, one of the world's most wanted men, has been arrested in Serbia after more than a decade.
He has been brought before Belgrade's war crimes court, in accordance with a law on cooperation the Hague Tribunal, the Serbian presidency said.
The Bosnian Serb wartime political leader disappeared in 1996.
He had been indicted by the UN tribunal for war crimes and genocide over the 1995 massacre at Srebrenica.
His wartime military leader, Ratko Mladic, remains at large.
"Radovan Karadzic was located and arrested tonight" by Serbian security officers, a statement by the office of President Boris Tadic said, without giving details.
"Karadzic was brought to the investigative judge of the War Crimes Court in Belgrade, in accordance with the law on cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia."

williamsica

This is great news, but will the Serbs actually hand him over?

Paschen

Thank you for the information and input here Zichi San! I appreciate it!

FionaSara

The International Criminal Court deals specifically with war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

I'm not sure, but I don't think some of these wanted Serbian war criminals are necessarily out of this particular geographic region. There is still alot of loyalties and disputes regarding their status within the region.

Paschen

No one is sure about their location at this time, however more and more reports are coming out of that Geographic Area, of Serbian, Bosnian, Croat and American Mercenaries working for the Sudanese Government as well as for the Niger Government and the Nigerian as well as Malian Government! Operating with extreme violence and torture practices, poisoning wells and Water hole vital to Local populations! It has been suggested that some of them may be wanted war criminals from the (former) Yugoslavian wars and that they are committing crimes of War Right now in those areas! Why it needs to be looked in to! Thank you for your input here, I do appreciate it!

djermano

Pretty Amazing Paschen you mentioned this and Karadzic was located and arrested.

No violence happened during the arrest.

Interesting, and thank you for bringing it up djermano! I appreciate it very much! I do doubt though that my Post had any thing to do with that! Thank you for the link here, I look into it!

good stuff:

Paschen, I like this story. I salute your persistence, Paschen, in following up these issues.  It's what makes really good reporting.  Some of us (ie me) flit from story to story!  Although my long term interest is the nitty gritty of how poor people survive in hostile environments.

Keep up the great reporting, Paschen.  Gerry
