Where Is The leadership?
While the Government continues to be shut down because both the Democrats and Republicans are so fixated on their own agendas. Steadfast those Republican Tea Party members still remain unapologetic toward the American Public. In this their "finest hour" when the leaders of our country could have prevented this blatant disregard for the majority of the American citizens but don't, continues to show that our government still remains oblivious to the real concerns of millions of Americans. Waiting to the very last minute to come to some accord to what many consider petty issues underscores the audacity of our elected officials.
The continued focus concerning the issues that have no barring on the very acute problems in the United states today is evidence of just how far removed our legislative body really is. The result of all that unnecessary posturing by mainly the Republicans is hardly the end all cure to our countries budget woes. When the so call manual "Path To Prosperity" that was circulated a little over a year ago as the answer all for the nations economic crisis was nothing more than the Republican Parties personalized agenda. Today, the Tea Party members has taken that manual one step further in sanctioning a willful and destructive stance that is preventing a compromise that would stave off a financial and economic catastrophe.
There remains many issues that are currently crippling every city, state, and this nations budgets. But, when members of one party imposes their will, sort of speaking, on the majority of the populace without their approval then we have again a form of taxation without representation. I seem to remember that a revolution was started by the will of government imposing regulations and taxes without the sanction of the majority of the population.
With this nation griped in a perpetual economic crisis our elected officials continually ignore the real solutions to the many problems and issues that are plaguing our society today. The Republican party has instead insisted on pursuing an agenda contrary to the will of the majority of the American public. When our legislatures hold hostage the American Public in order push through legislation that imposes more hardship upon an already impoverished nation only creates more distention, animosity and scorn toward our illustrious legislatures by the public in general.
Where is the real leadership? With so much at stake in our country today the leaders of our government failed the American public most miserably. With the focus now upon raising the debt ceiling without a precise plan of direction for this nation is cause for real alarm. So far what is coming out of the mouths and what brains are left in the legislative heads in Washington is "The American People want." Every time I hear that phrase reminds me that these legislatures really don't get it. Still, the real issue in securing the nations solvency is reducing the unemployment rate to under 4% with corresponding living wages. Anything else that doesn't contribute to reducing immediately the over 10 million Americans who remain unemployed with millions more under employed won't resolve the issues that are debated today by our gurus in Washington.
The urgency of a national plan of direction which produces dramatic increases in employment is so paramount that when our "Wizards" in Washington continue to spout "What the American Public want" resonates total ignorance to the hopes and aspirations of all those millions who have become so destitute. Unintentionally or not the policies coming out of our legislatures has in fact contributed to the dramatic increases in the unemployed and underemployed. Throw in the fact that our financial institutions accelerated this continued economic crisis in 2008 with the federal government initial response by adding billions of deferred tax dollars into the coffers of those same financial institutions and the failing Auto industry, along with now three armed conflicts occurring simultaneously across the globe, and our continued dependence on imported fuel for our energy needs all of which is contributing to why so many millions are caught in a whirlwind of economic deprivation. All of which continues to escalate our national debt.
All of these are manifesting into a juggernaut of economic decay so vast that without swift action directed toward resolving these issues will only further push this country further down that abyss of economic devastation. What the American Public really want is for our "Magnificent Legislatures" in Washington to stop paralyzing the public in their zeal to openly pursue an agenda that only favors so few. The need is apparent that to remedy our current fiscal crisis in every city, state and this nation is to reform current policies. From NAFTA to the Affordable Health Care Bill, that was passed are just a few of the policies that have to be reformed. But, to hold this nation hostage in a blatant attempt to repeal the Affordable health Care Act by not raising the Debt Ceiling is as criminal as a bank robber holding people hostage at gun point. It is as though these so called Tea Party Republicans really haven't got a clue on the bigger picture and that is the goal of achieving and maintaining a 4% unemployment rate with corresponding living wages.
Sure our President has had some success but for this nation to regain our economic stability it is imperative that direct action must be taken now with a precise plan of direction both short and long term that deals directly with securing the nations unemployment rate under 4% with living wages. Once achieved this nation will climb out of that abyss. The only way to achieve that goal is by passing and implementing a total National Economic Reform Agenda. A sitting President has an obligation to educate the American public of the urgency, importance, and significance of reform. Only through this education and reform can economic stability become a reality.
When more people begin to see the implications of what would happen once we really have our trade deficit balanced, our national debt eliminated and a 4% unemployment rate realized because of those reforms that have been enacted this nation will be assured of much brighter future. What the American public really want are leaders who will deliver results that millions of Americans will no longer suffer the economic and financial hardships that have befallen unto them from governmental policies that continue to only favor a very small minority, mainly the wealthiest few.
