It'a already being called Sarah's "sniper" moment, referring to Sen. Hillary Clinton's false assertion she was under sniper fire when she visited Bosnia 12 years ago.

McCain-Palin campaign admit VP candidate Sarah Palin never went to Iraq, only Kuwait.
Obama camp says turnaround is part of a pattern of lies.

Palin Camp Provides Conflicting Accounts of Iraq Visit

Updated 11:03 p.m.
By Anne E. Kornblut
RENO, Nev. -- Aides to Gov. Sarah Palin spent Saturday scrambling to explain details of her only trip outside North America in the wake of a report that that trip did not include travel into Iraq, as the McCain-Palin campaign had initially claimed.

"Sarah Palin's visit to Iraq in 2007 consisted of a brief stop at a border crossing between Iraq and Kuwait, the vice presidential candidate's campaign said yesterday, in the second official revision of her only trip outside North America," the Globe's Bryan Bender wrote, adding, later in his story: "[C]ampaign aides and National Guard officials in Alaska said by telephone yesterday that she did not venture beyond the Kuwait-Iraq border."

Or, did she?

Late Saturday, a Palin spokeswoman provided yet a third revision to the story, stating that the Alaska governor briefly traveled a quarter of a mile across the border into Iraqi territory at the crossing point.

"Last summer, Governor Palin traveled to Kuwait where she visited Alaskan National Guard troops deployed to the war in Iraq at Camp Arifjen. While she was there she traveled to the K Crossing on the Kuwait-Iraq border, and a quarter mile into Iraq," spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said. "According to the General who traveled with her, while she was there she presided over a re-enlistment ceremony of an Alaskan National Guard soldier.

"En route back to the United States, she traveled to Ramstein Air Base in Germany. While in Germany, Governor Palin visited wounded soldiers at the Landstuhl military hospital. She then returned home."

Earlier, the campaign also said she had been to Ireland, but that turned out to have been a refueling stop on the same July trip. McCain aides have expressed indignation at questions about her slim foreign travel.

In her ABC interview, Palin said she had also been to Canada and to Mexico, where her advisers said she went on vacation.

Obama aides described the revisions to Palin's account as part of a growing pattern of deception. "The McCain campaign said Governor Palin opposed the Bridge to Nowhere, but now we know she supported it. They said she didn't seek earmarks, but now we know she hired a lobbyist to get millions in pork for her town and her state. They said she visited Iraq, but today we learned that she only stopped at the border. Americans are starting to wonder, is there anything the McCain campaign isn't lying about?" Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor asked in a statement e-mailed to reporters.

A short time later, the Obama campaign circulated a Bloomberg story that questions whether the McCain campaign has been sending out false crowd estimates.

On two occasions since Palin joined the ticket, McCain aides have cited law enforcement sources in claiming enormous crowds -- but law enforcement officials interviewed by Bloomberg denied having given such estimates.

President Barack Obama went to Ireland primarily because he is a customary on St. Patrick's Day, which was the most well known holiday in Ireland. The Irish Taoiseach (or Prime Minister; the word roughly means "leader" in Irish Gaelic) met with President Obama as his customary and the two had talks about the global economy.  Ireland has been hit hard by recession and has had to make cash advances of their own to prevent financial disaster.  However, hopes are high that recovery is going to happen sooner rather than later, which would be good news for Ireland.

Democrats have a puzzle with a code name "Palin Problem". They have to solve it, and to do it effectively, because the prize is the White House.
Sarah is everywhere these days. No matter, if there are negative responses, rumors and resentments; or praises, support and encouragements. She filled media, and not only in America. Palinmania is spreading all over the world - everybody has their opinion on the new political celebrity of US.

The Palin avalanche is winning against Obama inundation. How should Democrats defeat her? Would it be better just keep their line of campaign and ignore populist idol of Republicans? Or should they put out their claws, oppose her and show her the real politics? http://www.votetheday.com/polls/to-defeat-palin-260/ - give advice to Democrats, if you think there still is an effective advice for them...

I think your comparative to the Sniper moment in your lead in might be inaccurate, as Hillary made the comment in question personally, and Palin did not.....as I understand it.

This one seems rather silly, as it appears a research assistant just pulled up a flight itinerary and called that her international visits. Seems like a reasonable mistake in that light.

As far as the "bridge to nowhere question", She supported it as mayor as it helped her constituency and was in their interest, but did not support it as Governor as it was not in the interest of the majority of her constituency. That is politics, each position you hold in Government makes you (should make you!) take different positions on issues to best serve the "people" you represent.

You might like to do a little more research into Palin's stance on the Bridge to Nowhere while she was running for Governor and after she was elected Governor. She openly supported the bridge until public outcry became so intense over pork barrel spending that Congress ended up nixing it. It was then, and only then, that Palin came out and changed her stance on the Bridge to Nowhere. Even when she first changed her standing on the issue, she did not say that it was because she was against the pork barrel spending. She stated it was because they were not going to get the funding necessary to complete it.

The burden of proof is on the prosecution. Lets see some detailed dates, quotes and non partisan sources.

I am all ears ! and ready to hear the true facts either way!....but I am tired of the same old rant which comes without any proof or verification other the Liberal Blogs or Liberal biased opinion pieces.

Regardless I still stand by my intended meaning in my previous comment, in general those in office change their governing with their constituency. Therfore a Governor changing the stance they might have had on something as Mayor is quite understandable.

Palin did go into Iraq.  She went over the border to meet the Alaskan national guard.  Just another liberal lie.

What is the next lie to  come?  Every lie about Palin is stirring up more undecideds to vote for McCain/Palin.

You ought to let your friend whoopie know that freeing of the slaves is in the constitution so when McCain appoints a constitutionalist freedom from slavery will be protected.  Third grade level liberal intellectuals need to go back to school.

Haven't you heard about the Palin Derangement Syndrome, bill? It's hopeless with these people.
