Whistler (British Columbia, Canada) experienced blackout around 2 pm today October 5th, according to twitter user reports. Two people were seriously injured as they came in contact with live electricity, not gas explosion as previously reported.

Power was cut to attend the two men.

Power was then cut to 6,000 of Whistler's 10,000 customers to make the area safe for emergency crews to attend to the two men.

Most of Whistler is without power this hour. One witness says it follows a terrible industrial accident.

BC Hydro website shows the outage started at 2:26 pm, followed by more blackouts.
